ARTIST - APRIL PARK
April Park is an artist from San Antonio Texas currently working in Albuquerque New Mexico. She received her BFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1996.
She has interests in photography, painting, and drawing. Familiar forms and how they are perceived are a key interest in her paintings.
The significance of a common image as simple as a house can be varied. The image could evoke nostalgia to one person and to another could represent worth or perhaps shelter. What is known and what is assumed are important ideas in her painting process.
Other principal components are the use of layers and wordplay. Her work has been featured in many new mexico galleries and brought rave reviews in the art community.
